A SEPPA, Lda – Economic Society of Agricultural Producers and Processors, a Mozambican entity dedicated to the field of Agribusiness, Consulting and Community Development, intends to recruit four (4) Agricultural Technicians for the “Project of Services Specialized in technical assistance to livestock farmers”, to be implemented in the District of Moatize, Province of Tete.
Responsibilities
- Provide routine assistance to livestock farmers (target group);
- Identify assistance needs to all breeders regardless of their level;
- Produce assistance plans and reports;
- Provide technical assistance to beneficiaries, including production plan, use of livestock inputs and technologies, adoption of good livestock practices;
- Identify livestock assistance needs (technology, health and agribusiness) in the area of jurisdiction and propose actions to respond to such needs.
Requirements
- Mozambican Nationality;
- Middle Level in Agriculture and/or agrarian extension;
- Minimum two (2) years of experience;
- Experience in the use and handling of livestock inputs and equipment;
- Deep knowledge in the area of animal production;
- Willingness to work and reside in the field;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment and ability to work under pressure;
Desirable
- Be fluent in Portuguese and in at least one of the local languages (Nhungue);
- Have in-depth knowledge of IT (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Internet, etc.);
- Have experience in community mobilization, creating and empowering community groups based on participatory approaches, including facilitating focus group discussions and individual interviews;
- Ability to work under pressure and in environments of great cultural diversity;
- Being a resident of Tete Province is an advantage.
